Editorial Policy
How we choose topics
Topics are selected based on reader questions, search demand, product launches, and editorial judgment about what our audience genuinely needs. We do not publish content solely because a product manufacturer or affiliate program wants coverage. Paid placements are labelled as such and are separate from editorial content.
Research and sourcing
Claims in our articles are supported by cited sources: academic research, manufacturer specifications, government data, or hands-on testing. We do not fabricate specifications, quotes, or test results. Sources are linked where available. We archive source URLs where reasonable to protect against link rot.
Testing methodology
Where we conduct hands-on testing, we describe our methodology in the article: what was tested, under what conditions, and for how long. We distinguish between products we have personally tested and those evaluated through research, user feedback, and third-party reviews.
AI-assisted content
We may use AI tools to assist with research summaries, outlining, or drafting. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and edited by a human author before publication. AI is not used to fabricate sources, generate synthetic reviews, or produce content that appears human-authored without review. AI-drafted sections may be noted where material.
Editorial independence from commerce
Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial rankings, verdicts, or which products we cover. Products may receive negative verdicts, be demoted in rankings, or be removed from recommendations when performance, availability, or value no longer meets our standards — regardless of commission rate.
Corrections
When we publish a factual error, we correct it as soon as we confirm the mistake. Corrections are noted within the article with the date of correction. We do not silently rewrite articles to remove errors without acknowledgement. Significant corrections are noted prominently. Contact us to report an error.
Content freshness
We review and update articles when products change materially, prices shift, new research emerges, or reader feedback reveals outdated information. The last reviewed date is shown on articles where we actively maintain them. Time-sensitive comparisons include a data freshness note.
Sponsored content
Sponsored content — where a third party has paid for coverage — is clearly labelled as "Sponsored" and kept editorially separate from independent editorial articles. Sponsored articles do not carry an editorial recommendation or verdict.
